Lane NOR / GDS

BaneNOR contacted us when they needed help upgrading the operating system in the information screens hanging on train stations and platforms.

The screens are provided by Italian GDS and we performed the mission for them.

The screens are large (32-46 inches) and, not least, heavy-duty units that are solidly built to withstand weather and wind, shock and vibration, and consist entirely of very robust components built and assembled to work seamlessly for years.

We analyzed and evaluated the existing software and operating system (Ubuntu 12.04 LTS), and spent time in our lab assembling a software package based on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and a set of applications and configurations that were tested on multiple screen types before we, GDS and BaneNOR agreed that we had a new and updated solution that worked.
